I started a new (temporary) job this week. My first day I went into the office, which meant I got to enjoy something I haven’t done in a long time: commute.
I am lucky enough to be able to commute by train, but of course, commuting by public transport in December has a (chilly) downside.
November has felt like a full life reboot.
I made a lot of changes all at once: moved house, moved cities, changed jobs. Change is hard, there’s always a lot of fear about loss before you make a change. But having gone through with it, I’ve realised it gives you a feeling of strength and resilience. It makes you realise you can change things. That you’re not stuck, but are an active participant in your own life.
I thrive on adventure. I had become quite risk averse in a lot of ways, but having a little push and making these changes has reminded me that newness also brings excitement, novelty, and growth.
I’m really excited to see in the new year, and find out what 2022 will bring.
